| Head Freshman Coach: John Lush |
This is Coach Lush’s 2nd year coaching football at Lackey High School.
John originally hails from Catasauqua, Pa, a small, close-knit community
about an hour north of Philadelphia. While in high school, John was an
All-Conference athlete-- lettering in varsity football, wrestling and
baseball.
Coach Lush takes a hard-nosed approach to sports, work and life, which
has made him a perfect fit at Lackey. Although he is only 25 years old,
John has proven his dedication and commitment to success by earning
his Master’s Degree in English Education from the University of
Pittsburgh. He hopes this hard work ethic, energy, and ultimately,
success will continue on the football field with the Lackey Chargers.

Coach Lamb writes, “Coach Lush brings a lot of enthusiasm and excitement that is very contagious. John has been a
great addition to our staff and we are eager to have him start coaching our players up! What’s even more impressive
about John the initiative he takes with our players and with his students. Coach Lush is a teacher first in his approach
to his role not just with the football team, but also at Lackey High School. He has the right frame of mind and is on
the same page as I am in a relatively short amount of time. He is a fantastic role model and leader for our freshmen
program.”
Coach Lush currently resides in Waldorf, MD. When not inside the classroom or on the football field, you can find
Coach Lush cheering on his beloved PHILADELPHIA EAGLES any given Sunday.
